The New Zealand Citizen Family Relationship Visa (subclass 461) is a specific type of visa that is granted to individuals who are non-New Zealand citizens and wish to join their New Zealand (holder of a Special Category visa) family member for a period of five years in Australia.

The family member you are sponsoring can be your partner, a dependent child, or any dependent family member. MAIN ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE VISA SUBCLASS 461
In order to apply for this visa, the applicant must meet three main requirements.

- The sponsor must be a New Zealand citizen
- The applicant must not be a New Zealand citizen
- The sponsor must be living in Australia and must hold a Special Category visa, subclass 444 at the time of application
WHAT DOES THE VISA SUBCLASS 461 ALLOW?
If successfully granted the New Zealand Citizen Family Relationship visa, the holder will be allowed to travel, in and out of Australia, and live in the country for 5 years from the date that the visa is issued.
