The Department of Home Affairs has officially launched the Australian Immi App, a new mobile application aimed at simplifying the visa application process. The app offers facial biometric capture and verification, allowing visa applicants to complete this step independently.
Initially, the Australian Immi App will be available to visa applicants in the Pacific region, including Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, and Papua New Guinea. Additionally, nationals residing in New Zealand will also have access to the app.

This rollout in the Pacific region reflects the Department’s commitment to enhancing connectivity, supporting economic growth, and ensuring a strong and secure Pacific region. By introducing the Australian Immi App, the Department is making the visa process more efficient, promoting easier travel between Australia and its Pacific neighbours.
Visa applicants who have previously submitted biometrics at an Australian biometric collection centre can now use the app to provide facial biometrics and passport details. Eligible applicants will receive an official invitation from the Department to download and use the app.

The app is free to download and use, offering significant convenience by eliminating the need for applicants to visit a biometric collection centre for each new visa application.
