Prior to commencing work for a client, Registered Migration Agents must provide all clients with a copy of the “Consumer Guide”. The authority requires all agents to make note that the Consumer Guide has been provided to the client. The Consumer Guide highlights the role and obligation the agent has to his client.
These include:
Information regarding the migration advice profession
The role and function of the Office of the MARA
The legislation regulating the migration advice profession
What a client can reasonably expect from an agent
Complaint procedures
The Consumer Guide is available in many languages. If you wish to receive the Consumer Guide in a language other than English, please let the agent know prior to your initial consolation.
